Across the country kids are flexing their muscles, not to show off
strength, but God. Churches are using temporary tattoos of images including doves, crosses, and scriptures as a way to reach kids, and also equip kids to reach other kids.

In today’s culture, tattoos are “cool,” so Randy Funk, founder of
Christian Kid Tattoos (christiankidtattoos.com) purposed to make
them “cooler.”

“Christian tattoos give kids a healthy alternative to what the
secular world is offering,” he says. Jeff Lasseigne, assistant pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, Calif. (harvest.org), has used the tattoos in Vacation Bible Schools and kids crusades as a way to plug into kids. Many kids, he says, have asked him about the tattoos, proving that Christian tattoos are hitting a hot button.

The tattoos are also initiating discussion among kids; the
untattooed are asking the tattooed what the symbol painted on their arm means. Says Funk: “We hope the tattoos provide kids a way to share God’s Word in their own style.”
